Re: Siskins New Name & Logo
ILuvHockey...first off..volunteering needs to be accepted. Trust me, you would not want me volunteering with this league. Too much would get done! But feel free to PM me...I like to know who I am talking to regarding these matters and vice versa. I mean I have even been called JM on this board..LOL....

Re: Siskins New Name & Logo
And with one swoop of the pen.. A team with a tremendous history and traditión is snuffed out!! Great mové... NOT!!! That is the one thing that this league has, well two things actually.. History and traditión! I am sure that will soon disappear as well with the types of decisions that have been mad...

Re: Ayr Centennials Purchase Kitchener Dutchmen
Sure.. Scale back.. But where is this league going to get the money from? Attendance is not an issue of owners have deep pockets and business es where the losses dont matter anyway. FYI.. Dont take your lead from the OJ.. They are, as someone here once said, a rudderless ship! But then again.. The d...

Re: Ayr Centennials Purchase Kitchener Dutchmen
Curious as to what the purchase price was...my guess nowhere near the $150k the league was dreaming of last year with the Collingwood fiasco!

Sometimes there is a lot more to trades than the on-ice competitiveness. Not saying that was the case here but there are lots of variables that go into a trade!

And that is the big problem with this league. They need to be proactive but I guess this isnt surprising with the current leadership

Is this DID in fact occur with a threat to a city employee...not only should the league get involved but so should the police! What is the leagues stance on this or do they even have one?

You can't really blame St. Catharines if they declined to host..not after the debacle that was last year!

Re: Official Off-Season Signings
Its the same with Minor Hockey...AA in HEO is equivalent to AAA in the OHF. I guees you need a clear and present thought process to make a decision to pull semantics out and designate it AAA! Only in Ontario...lol

Re: Someone answer this for me.....
There should be no "gentleman" agreements especially when both leagues compete for the same players. Would love to see this league take steps to get back to the days where kids actually WANTED to play in this league but alas...the crew currently steering the GOJHL vessel seem inclined to j...

Someone answer this for me.....
I heard through the rinkvine the following: If a GOJHL team has a player and the OJHL wants said player, the maximum that GOJHL can "request" is $1500 for said player. Now, if an OJHL team has a player who wants/needs to go to Junior "B" for whatever reason, that OJHL team can ch...

Re: GOJHL Board
What does that say about the Captains of the GO ship...if the OJ is rudderless than the GO is a ship with a thousand holes and this bunch is using nothing but fingers to quell the flow of water into it!

Re: GOJHL Board
Marty Bettman and the OJ will continue to play the GO like a puppet! Now you also have an OHA Board controlled by the OJ. There is only 1 solution....blow it up! Get rid of these individuals who continuously want pats on the back for doing nothing!!! Protect your assets!!! Be prepared for the OJ to ...

Re: GOJHL Board
Collingwood...Orillia...heard interest from a Private School....Fergus possible...Orangeville possible...Alliston possible...Shelburne possible All that was needed was to set aside a $150k pricetag! When Collingwod jumped at the $150k offered by the GOJHL, it effectively killed it! The league could ...

Re: GOJHL Board
Head-scratching decisions.... 1.) Website..still waiting for something...ANYTHING that does this league, it's players and it's fans justice 2.) Decision to look towards the GTA to expand...rather than in an area void of "B" or "A" hockey! Opportunity was there for 5-6 teams at po...

Re: GOJHL Board
The floor has been mopped with the GOJHL the past few months! There are more important things than "protecting" the players.
Blow this thing up, and replace the decision-makers within the GOJHL as it appears they continue to make head-scratching decisions!!

All this could have been avoided quite honestly but, you have people who will only listen to their own ideas ...

Re: New OHA Board Proves to Be a Disaster
The new OHA board failed every team and players!!!! The trading deadline was changed to 7pm across Canada and the OHA board failed to be educated enough to manage the OHA. Over 62 trades are now null and void. This is the biggest disaster in the history of the OHA. This is truly what happens when s...

Re: Expansion
I know for a fact that a Eastern/Northern Conference can be a go and there are MULTIPLE locations interested. The issue is at the league level and not having the foresight to take a step to better the brand. A league is only as strong as the teams in it and vice versa. The truth was when the 'old&qu...

I assume Hamilton, Pelham, Fort Erie and Lockport from the GH and probably London from the west based on what has been said. So that should tell you who decided to work with the masses. The more interesting thing is going to be what potentially happens to those 5 as the year progresses.

Re: The OHA
This should never have been an issue in the first place. The move had the support of both the OJHL and the GOJHL! Going to take a page out of a governing body's handbook and looking for the "rationale" for the decision by the OHA to deny this move!! You would be hard pressed to find any ra...
