Re: Corvairs Captain
I don't think the number of years a guy has been there should make them the best choice for A's and the C. There are guys with OHL experience that may be better suited for those roles. At the end of the day it must be guys the coach is comfortable with that should be the leaders.

Re: Canucks Pre Season Tournament
The Corvairs have there team in place, they spend the off season putting the pieces together. They are a well run organization and a treat to watch. It's seems more and more each year that they are pulling away from the rest of the league. They may be better served moving up the Jr A where they woul...

They look strong again from what I have seen. There defence looks bigger and more skilled then last year, and the speed up front is impressive.

Re: New Season
Always a good battle when the two teams play. St. Catherines is very well coached and work hard every shift. Just see the regular season being similar to last year with the Vairs running away with it. The post season is a different game. I just hope some of the other teams take a step forward and no...

Re: New Season
I can't see it being much different at the top. Caledonia will run away with first. I hope St Catherine's retools, but I think the rest of the league will be average at best. I really miss the Vairs in the mid west, every game was a battle.

Glad to see him back, looks like a solid defence. Hopefully they can get a few more of those rumoured guys. Looked good the few times I saw them scrimmaging.

Re: LaSalle eliminates mighty Sugar Kings
The second best team may be St. Catherines from what I have seen in the playoffs so far. They pushed Caledonia in there series with all the injuries they had. What if they they made four divisions and two conferences with the teams there are now. It would mean splitting up the current divisions. The...

Re: Caledonia headed to Sutherland Cup finals for second straight year
Is Caledonia's attendance really that bad?
Population 10,000 avg game att. 219
St. Kitts 131,400. Avg 440
Niagara Falls 83,000 avg 708
Chatham 44,000 avg 774
Sarnia 72,336 avg 1258
Pelham 16,598. Avg 191
Interesting to see population and attendance numbers, not that it means much.

Re: Game 2 Caledonia at Leamington live on YouTube
The name Corvairs is after the car. The year the team started 1961 was the same yr the car was released. The main sponsor for the team at that time was the car dealer in town. I do wish they had kept the old logo, much better then the new one.

Ryan Blunt has played 62 with 5 g and 22 a for 27 points. He played 20 games with Brantford and the rest with the Corvairs, and is still adding to those totals.

Re: The Harris & Creamer show
It's been like this all year. I believe it is the refs trying to keep the games from getting out of hand on the score board.
It's like they are that red sports car, travelling the same speed as others, but they get the ticket every time.

Re: Caledonia's fire power, yikes
The Corvairs are a well run club, with a great coach and gm. They have made Caledonia a place that kids want to come and play and have success. They demand a lot from the players and are able to get the best out of them. It's great that many of the kids are living in town and loving it. It is very h...

He is a very good coach and has the record to back it up. Not to mention a 50 goal scorer in NHL. He knows the game and that's all that really matters.

As long as they keep winning games playing good fast hockey. That's all that matters in the end. This organization has done a great job bring kids in and playing as a unit. There is not a team in the GHL that can skate with them.

A dick move, classless? Come on.
As long as you don't cross the line, fire pucks across or stand there churping . You can use the warm up time however you want to.
A dick move is not is not allowing GHL to be involved in the allstar game.

Re: Falcons vs Corvairs
Really? Are the three stars of the game that important to you? They are a joke and has nothing to do with the game. The the leagues give out monthy awards. I have never seen three stars named at the end of any game Corvair home game. I think the league has big issues then worrying about this.

Laugh all you want at the attendance. Can't remember the last time attendance made any difference in the standings or won a team a championship. Pretty good chance I will be watching another Sutherland Cup final this year, and sure the rink will be full again in Caledonia.

Re: Caledonia deserves better attendance
It is a shame the crowds are small, I think there are a number of reasons for this. I don't believe the team is concerned because there is no promotion at all to try and get people out. They dominate games so much, it's hardly an entertaining night out. Most nights visiting team in lucky to get 15 s...

Re: Caledonia
I still see St. kitts as the only team that could give the Corvairs some trouble, if they ever start playing as a team. Their goaltending has been average at best. Welland is solid, but has trouble scoring and Ancaster has a great goalie, but lacks any depth.

Corvairs are very well coached and a fast, hardworking team. I have never seen a team dominate games like they do. Will be interesting to see if anything else will be added before deadline. Don't see any team in the shoe able to compete in a playoff series.
