Re: It's a new season
If leamington gets Warren and Chatham gets Patterson I think that puts the Flyers and maroons above the rest at this point. I think Leamington is already there. They have four solid lines and aren't easy to score more than a couple of goals on. I honestly think Leamington will finish first. Without...

Sounds like this kid isn't happy anywhere. He's looking to be on his third team now. Teams will be cautious with him.

Re: It's a new season
Chatham has a new goalie lined up. The timeline of when they can aquire him is the question. I hope sooner than the latter just for the pure fact of what it will stir up. :D According to my sources, the rumour around Chatham is that the Maroons have signed Jake Patterson, formerly of the London Kni...

Re: Golden Horseshoe Leaving?
A fair question, but why still be competing for the same championship? Just wondering why we'd be playing for the suthie but excluded from the All-Star festivities.
In years past the Shoe has played the West in the All-Star game, back before we became one league.

Re: Golden Horseshoe Leaving?
I see that the All-Star game and Prospects game are the Mid-West vs. the West. I was tipped to this because I saw someone from Caledonia complaining on Twitter about how their kids are working just as hard as ours and it's not fair that they're not part of these games. Well, you want to separate fr...

Everyone wants out of the Falls. A new owner bought the team and all but one veteran left in the off-season. Something fishy there.flyers2011 wrote:Matthew Trudel was signed by the Lasalle Vipers yesterday he played this season for the Niagara Falls Canucks.

Sarnia, Strathroy, bizarro world
After starting the season 13-0 Sarnia lost their first game of the season to Strathroy by a score of 3-2. That game started a cycle of losing. Since winning their first 13 games they're only 3-5. To make matters worse, those 3 wins are against the bottom three teams in the West.(St.Marys, Lambton Sh...

Red hot Rockets come back to beat Maroons
The red hot Strathroy Rockets trailing 3-2 heading into the third period came back with two unanswered goals, including the winner in the last minute of play. With the win the Rockets improve to 8-2 over their last 10 games. Including wins over Leamington & Sarnia. Look out, the Rockets look leg...

Re: 2 Lincs Looking for a New Home?
This needs to stop !. Every year St Marys gets a gun put to their head by 2nd or 3rd year players that want to go play for a winner, every year one or two players want to go home to London. St Marys is very good about offering players in their final year an opportunity to go play for a contender if...

Re: 2 Lincs Looking for a New Home?
That's been London's MO for how many years now? How many times do they trade away a 16 or 17 year old to St. Marys, St. Thomas, Strathroy, Lambton Shores, and then when that kid gets to be 19 or 20, they all of a sudden ask for a trade back to London. It's like London doesn't want them when they're...

Re: Checking from behind Game misconduct
I was going to make that comment, that sometimes the refs call the penalties worse than they really are. Safety is obviously the No. 1 concern of, not just the OHA, but everybody, but, in my opinion, sometimes the calls are a little overkill. Now, I wasn't at the game in LaSalle on Wed., but accord...

Re: Flyers tie Sarnia for First Place after 7-2 win
Looks like the Flyers might lose a top forward. Henderson was called up to London and picked up a goal & assist in their 7-2 win over Sudbury today.
I don't know if they plan on sending him back down or not.

Checking from behind Game misconduct
I think it's time to update the call given for checking from behind from a 2:00 penalty to an automatic 5:00 major & a game misconduct. These kids have been taught not to hit the numbers since peewee. It shows a total lack of respect, and it can be deadly. So far there have been 106 games played...
