Re: Maroons almost toast?

Whoa hang on there. I don’t agree with these comments about our players. I’m not sure who you are commenting on but I didn’t see any players who weren’t giving their all. This was a very talented and hard working group all year long. I may not have agreed with how the team was managed but I never fe...

Re: Maroons almost toast?

Congrats to Komoka. This result was not a surprize. Chatham’s play / strategy peaked in November. Any team would quickly learn that the key to stopping Chatham was to defend the top 2 lines, frustrate the players prone to taking retaliatory type penalties and press the defence with speed and a quick...

Re: Maroons almost toast?

All year I’ve said that this guy wasn’t building a team and that you need 4 lines especially in the playoffs. He needed to insert his rookies and 2nd year guys into the lineup. Gardiner/O’Brien with a 6’2” 185 lb first yr centre could be a solid line. Shultz/Johnstone and Wells or Baddour, Robinson/...

Re: First Round Predictions

Have to agree about Chatham coach. This guy hasn’t developed his young bench. He had ample opportunies to grow the young players but he obviously doesn’t realize that you need 4 lines to contend especially in the playoffs. Tonight they are down 4-0 going into the third period. Maroons are taking a l...

Re: Maroons coming alive lately!

I think Chatham got the better players in this trade. A lot of harping about Rychel but he plays well with Robinson and his puck luck is amazing. He can't skate but he uses his stick skills and hockey knowledge to make up for that and he's not selfish with the puck. The difference as mentioned is th...

Re: Maroons coming alive lately!

0-11 powerplay but this coach has blinders on. He won’t try anything or any personnel beyond his “ select “ few. Leamington goaltending was stellar but quite frankly they weren’t tested all that much. Chatham has some talent but coach has them gasping for air by third period. Just not impressed with...

Re: Leamington to take the Division?

They didn’t look like much Sunday vs the Maroons. Mind you hadChatham goalie not made some outstanding saves it may have gone the other way. Leamington goaltending wasn’t to stellar that night and Rychel was skating circles around their D.

Re: Chatham Maroons 1 Win in last 6 ??

The goaltending has been pretty decent so I don’t think that is the problem. From what I remember it was stated that the Maroons would depend on offense this season from the defense on out. It looked early on like that strategy might work but as other teams improved and quite frankly figured us out ...

Re: leamington/Chatham trade

Package the Fisher’s for a good stay at home dman who can make the quick and accurate outlet pass. With Rychel and Robinson stepping up their game and Gardiner, O’Brien and Shultzy continuing to challenge for first line ice time the offense that the twins were supposed to bring isn’t as necessary. S...

Re: Last 10 Games

Just finished watching Chatham defeat St. Marys. I take back the comment about Rychel retiring and becoming the new Chatham coach. This young man serves a better role as player-coach. If I had a kid who plays wing I’s tell him to watch Rychel. No wasted movement. Stay within reasonable distance of t...

Re: Last 10 Games

Komoka looked good tonight against Chatham. I’d like to see young Rychel retire and take over as coach. Surely he would know enough to utilize his whole bench.

Re: Last 10 Games

Chatham just smoked London tonight. If Chatham makes better use of all their players and perhaps makes an acquisition of at least 1 top defenceman they could be very tough to compete with. They need to look at Leamington and their use of all their players versus the top 7 or 8. Can’t just play your ...

Re: leamington/Chatham trade

Listened to the game tonight. Sounded pretty close until half way through the third. Did anyone notice if Chatham started playing all 4 lines or mixed up the powerplay or even tried changing some line combinations to shake things up? Hard to tell who was playing as I didn’t hear some names hardly me...

Re: leamington/Chatham trade

Doesn’t surprise me. I’m sure Robinson would be getting more ice if he were in Leamington. Leamington seems to play everyone, including their 16 year olds. Coach is moulding a team of 4 good, hardworking lines. They will be even stronger next year and won’t need a massive turnover of players.

Re: London still going strong!

Chatham coach only plays 20 year olds. He doesn’t know how to mix his young guys in. Same power play all year with limited effect. Sometimes you need to change things up. He’s got some big young wingers who show potential but he uses them 3 or 4 short shifts a night. Hard to stay in the game when th...

Re: leamington/Chatham trade

just roll your 4 lines so your so called gunners have some energy later in the game or in OT. You sign these guys snd then play them 4 or 5 short shifts. That’s not developing players you’ll need to be a team when the playoffs roll around.
