Re: OJHL Expansion/ What GOJHL teams will apply for Jr. A status?
FrozenPonds, Thank you for your thoughts; you have my vote and full support...lol. Due mainly to geography, I tend to be more of an OJHL follower than GO guy...but in saying that, I love your league, too. Like you, I want the players and fans to get the greatest experience possible and believe colle...

Does anyone know where Justin Kyle will be playing this year?
As far as I can tell, he has yet to re-up with Niagara Falls.
Thanks

Re: GO players moving to the OJHL....2019/2020
Once again, thanks for your comments. As for my words; I'll stand behind them, as being 100% accurate. I know one OJHL club (I assume you are affiliated with) whom were unhappy with my views and assessment their operations. What I'll say is this; Do your job better, in a more professional manner and...

Re: GO players moving to the OJHL....2019/2020
Ummm, ok Thanks for your insights. If you are truly familiar with both leagues, why would you need to fact check on team websites? Knowing the history of said teams should suffice, one would presume. Unless, of course, you're being over zealous in your stated familiarity with the OJHL! For the recor...

Not the OJHL, but, three young and very talented players from the GO get plucked by the Navan Grads of the CCHL.
Blake Butler from the Legionnares
Mason Goldie from the Lincolns
Zane Dalpe from the Vipers

Caledonia being Caledonia.....Corvairs open up the vault to land 20 year old Tyler Burnie.
Rumour has it that Caledonia ponied up quite the amount of cash to land the big fella.

Re: Official Off-Season Signings
The league the Tikis play in may have a Jr B designation (because it is not underage OHA umbrella), but in reality, it's Jr C level hockey.

Re: GOJHL Board
As an OJHL guy, I truly believe you are giving Marty Savoy (Bettman) way too much legitimacy and credit. Believe me.....the OJHL is a mess and widely regarded as a rudderless ship by people in the know. Historically, Savoy's tenure as Commissioner of the OJ has been one bad decision and stubbed toe ...

Re: GO players moving to the OJHL....2019/2020
Interesting part in all this movement, is that due to recent changes (OHA), the GOJHL teams losing these players to the OJHL, are no longer entitled to their development fee.....or whatever you wish to call it. OJHL clubs can now raid the Ontario B loop, signing as many players as they wish....basic...

GO players moving to the OJHL....2019/2020
Year after year, we see an exodus of talent leave for the supposed greener pastures of the OJHL. With so much on the line for these prospects, why do a large percentage of these young men and their families not do due diligence and their homework? I mean, if it were my kid, I'd be well aware of whic...

Re: GOJHL AGM Today
I agree with much of what is expressed above. Where I take exception, to a degree, is the theorizing that if you need to pay to play Junior A hockey, you aren't good enough for the level. That's simply an inaccurate, untruthful statement and it's misleading. At the core of the issue, whether you dis...

Re: GOJHL AGM Today
On top of that; making things even more difficult to compete for homegrown talent with the BCHL, many advisors, agents, NCAA schools and Ontario private schools such as St. Andrews, push players out west. I know some Prep schools, like a St. Andrews, won't barely talk to teams in the OJHL or GO, alr...

Re: GOJHL AGM Today
I could be way off base here, but from the information I've been told, what's good for the goose is also good for the gander. Meaning; any team in the GO can do exactly the same thing as OJHL clubs, and pluck players from that league for a nominal development fee, as well. Again, if I'm wrong on thi...

Re: GOJHL'ers going to OJHL
Make no mistake or bones about it, I truly believe a lot of people on this forum and in general look at the GO's designation and just assume it's on par or comparative to the NOJHL. Wrong!!! The GO is much stronger overall, with deeper and more talented rosters. How many guys in the NO have major ju...

Re: GOJHL'ers going to OJHL
To be clear and to try to make my points in a more positive manner, I will now attempt to offer a list of OJHL clubs which most deem to be run in a first class manner. 1a & b: Oakville Blades and Wellington Dukes. Two best run clubs far and away. Been that way for years! 2: Toronto Patriots. Oth...

Re: GOJHL'ers going to OJHL
I'm not looking to be mean or nasty, but, offer honest assessment based on what I know and what so called experts believe as fact. Cut and dried, the NOJHL and the Superior League are widely considered a notch below many Junior A leagues throughout the country. Yes, the odd year, there might be a go...
