Re: Official Off-Season Signings

Flyers sing Matt Waite from BCHL. Played in QHJHL too. Looks like there ready to win this year. Have not seen any big signings from Nationals or Maroons yet. Have work to do if they want to win with all the players they lose last year.

Re: Waterloo, London Suthy Finals

The last time the Sutherland Cup went to game 7 was in the 2013/14 season when Caledonia beat St. Catharines. Prior to that in 2002/03 Stratford topped Thorold. Since 1980 only three other SC finals have went to 7 games: in 1981/82 St. MIchaels beat Sarnia; in 1997/98- Niagara Falls edged Elmira an...

Will be at the game sunday night, exited to see for my own eyes You definitely got your money's worth today. After the first period, I thought Waterloo was done but they seemed they seemed to be in it in the 2nd. The last 2 minutes was crazy though, as well OT. I sure did!! what a game. i just dont...

Re: Waterloo, London Suthy Finals

I was at all 6 games in that series and the Siskins did most certainly take their foot of the pedal. A good example was their lack of disciple in game 5. This team has mostly played a disciplined brand of hockey this year and they returned to that style in their last two games. The goaltending situ...

Well game 1 went pretty much as I expected. London got thrashed by a much faster and well balanced Waterloo squad. Hope the next three games have similar results but I doubt that they will. Waterloo has not been the most consistent team during this play off run, example up 3-0 against the Falls in ...

Niagara Falls goin out with a derogotory comment to finish the season off. Golden Hoseshoe last hope. Now havent one a suthy cup final game in 3 straigt seasons Which obviously pleases you to no end for whatever reason Sugar King. And yet Mendonca is the playoff scoring leader. Go figure.
But it's not just those 2, it's a total team effort in the bad penalty department.
30 points verses Lockport and Pelham. If they can’t win a game verses Waterloo, how bad would those teams be.

Re: Sutherland Cup Semis

Love our game Having seen them play half a dozen times or so between this year and last. I could see his defensive systems as a 5 man unit and their power play especially had a unique twist to it from most other GO teams I witnessed. 2 big elements of the game that take successful teams a long way....

Re: Sutherland Cup Semis

Hopefully Niagara Falls still has enough left after that series with St. Catharines. It is a shame that the Falcons did not make it to the semi's Its a shame that a team lost a serie’s already and is in the suthy. Dont see how The team with the 5th best winning record not making it is a shame also.

London Nationals and Listowel Cycs back again. Nice to see two new teams in. Canucks can thank Caly that they get a new representation from the Shoe. And the Loo is in as the Midwest champ. 4th year and a row that the Midwest sends 2 to the Suthy. Any predictions?? RG I’m looking at you, cuz ur the ...

3rd time in 4 years these 2 meeting the finals. This has gotta be the biggest rivalry in the conference by now.

Well Rocket Girl that is a good point that you bring up here! Crowder is new to Junior B and its Palyoffs. Experienced coaching really comes out when pressure is on. Not many better feelings than the one St.Kitts had tonight. Front row for awards given out to the team theyre playing. They go out and embarrass them infront of their own fans. Yes! That also was a big factor. Good coaches are usually quick to pick up on the fact that they have been handed heartless, washed up players and address that as soon as possible. I agree

Re: Western Conference Awards

The GM's, unless it's changed. In years past, each team would put forth their nominees for the awards, each team would have 1 representative. On the day of the banquet, they would have a GM meeting, the last before play-offs, and that's when voting would take place. I believe you could not vote for...

Re: Maroons almost toast?

Powerhouses vs Coach - ego vs. super ego. Coaches remarks in local publications make it clear that he is not taking any responsibility for the failure of this ‘dream team’, and that it was all on the players. Way to sidestep that eh. Time to grow up and own it. The coach is the front man of the tea...

Sugar King - I disagree with the Corvairs statement although. We can’t agree on everything. Shouldn’t compare Listowel Chatham London and Caledonia, but my point is that they all had powerhouses on there roster. You need a coach to handle that. 3/4 of the coach’s do, only only one that didn’t is Ch...

Re: Maroons almost toast?

It took facing elimination after falling behind 3-1 for the Coach to express this? “We’ve got a lot of skill and we’ve got a lot of talent on this team, but right now the team that’s beating us is a team that’s playing cohesive and they’re playing for each other and they’re playing desperate,” Maka...

This leamington/strathroy series is interesting. When do 8 seeds put up this much of a fight in the first round? Yes, it’s early, but 1-0, then an overtime game to follow. From the looks of things on gamesheets (haven’t seen a game), games seem close even in shots on net aside from one period. Is St...
