Re: First round playoff predictions

Stars fired 53 shots on Chatham last night. Many great chances too. Maroon goalie was outstanding. Stars ended the series going 1 for 26 on the pp. Not going to beat anybody, let alone who I believe is the best team in the Conference, with stats like that. Chatham/London should be a beauty of a seri...

Re: First round playoff predictions

I know I predicted Nats in 4 but after seeing that young goalie last night play for St. Mary's they may have a chance to upset. He was the reason that game wasn't 7-0. Where did he come from? Seriously? Do you follow hockey? He's a Knights draft pick. He's played up with them recently but has playe...

Re: First round playoff predictions

I can't see any of the top 3 seeds getting upset, but I'll go on a "limb" and suggest that one of them will get a scare - at least 6 games. I won't go so far as to say which one though :) i do think that Sarnia has a chance to upset Leamington, so I'll go against the grain and pick Sarnia ...

Re: Western Conference Awards

Nice to see a couple Stars on there - 1 player, i volunteer :)

Tell me, how does a kid (Moskal) win Rookie of the year (deservedly, I might add) yet not be on the All-Rookie team?

edit: I see the guy above me asked the same question.

Re: Race in the West

ty both.
So, London can still catch Chatham (they would win the tie break under rule C) but
Strathroy can't catch St. Thomas (at most they could have 17 wins)

Re: Race in the West

So what's the first tie-breaker? If there's a 2-way tie? Say Chatham loses their last 2 and London wins They will have same number of points. From what I read it seems the first tie-breaker is the GF pct (GF/(GF+GA)). London's is much better than Chatham's. They will both have the same number of win...

Re: Race in the West

Very real chance for St. Thomas can catch St. Marys. Lincolns have Lasalle and Chatham, Stars have London, Leamington and Strathroy before meeting on the final day of season. 2 very tough games for St. Marys. If they were to lose both, Stars have to only win 1 of those 3 games to make it come down t...

Re: Guy from OJHL forum rips the GOJHL, Buffalo

I"m curious. I haven't seen this Buffalo team but how would they do against a Jr C team. Obviously Dorchester would beat them easily, but what about, say Port Stanley or other below average Jr C team? Would local Minor Midget AAA teams beat them? Easily? AA teams? Bantam teams? I just find it h...

Thorold folding?

Saw this on the GOJHL website: "Please be advised that the Thorold Blackhawks will not finish the season due to continuing roster challenges ‎impacted by illness, injuries, and suspensions. The OHA in collaboration with the GOJHL are considering what adjustments may be needed for the remainder ...

Re: Play-offs

Pretty safe bet it will be Leamington/Sarnia in the 4-5 matchup but the other series could be almost anything with close races at the top and the bottom. As mentioned by other posters, whoever gets St. Marys better not take them lightly. Strathroy can surprise and St. Thomas has beaten all the top t...

Re: TRADE DEADLINE (Deals, Signings, Rumours, Etc.)

St. Thomas added 3 players in the last 2 days. Doubftul it puts them with the big boys but may enable them to move up to, say 5th, and get a favorable first round matchup with Leamington. Dane Johnstone - local kid was in Flint for all of last year Brendan Cherwalk - NAHL player Brady Pataki - Knigh...

Re: TRADE DEADLINE (Deals, Signings, Rumours, Etc.)

Lasalle just added a 6'7 - 20 y/o Dman from the Q. Jack Van Boekel. Apparently he played in Strathroy a couple years ago.

Nice pickup there

Doesn't look like anyone from the West will be able to compete with Caledonia after the moves they made, but the West playoffs should be fun to follow.

Western Conference

Should be a great finish in the West. LaSalle has a bit of a lead now, but London, Leamington and Chatham have all made moves to improve. These 4 are obviously the class of the Conference and I'm looking forward to the stretch drive and, of course, the playoffs. Should be some great matches once the...

Funny having a game for the 2000s. Must be about 90% of the 2000 paying in the league will be playing in this game.

Re: St. Thomas Stars

No doubt the team is a bit of a mess right now. They are very young and inexperienced. With Newland gone and Ferreira on the shelf they have a total of 0 defensemen who played B last year. Their forwards are pretty inexperienced too. Hopefully the captain doesn't jump ship too. I have confidence in ...
