Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
I have heard a few false rumours about specific teams that sources say originate with GOJHL Inc based team executive. I have lost count how many times a final decision was going to be made. Someone needs to make a binding decision that carries through the 2018-19 season. If Inc insists on separate B...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
Looks like some teams are letting their fans in on their tentative home opener date but with no listed opponent. Exibtion games are being played but so far only the non Inc teams are maintaining their data on Pointstreak. The OHA needs to appoint a competent director to manage the affairs of this le...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
The GOJHL has finally released most of their preseason schedule just 3 days ahead of the first preseason game this Friday in Pelham. This season has 2 " Non GOJHL" teams competing in preseason action, Niagara Riverhawks and Woodstock Navy Vets. I could see Woodstock as a possible destinati...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
an OHL scout keen to go to the GOJHL showcase is doing nothing but showing everybody there he's an OHL scout get back to the minor midget games, you're not going to find a diamond in the rough there to impress the Hunters I imagine both the GOJHL and GOJHL Inc teams will have staff dressed in team ...

Re: 2018-19 Signings
Welland is stating that they only charge $395.50 to play there! Caveat to those running there to save! The players get 1 stick! They will still have to pay the GOJHL $750 on top of that and may have to fork out the remaining billet cost if billeted and want to stay on the roster after Dec 01st, etc...

Re: GOJHL'ers going to OJHL
My experience with the OJ and even some of the CCHL teams is that for a player going in you really need to do your due diligence. There are some well operated clubs and some complete disasters. Daddy owned teams are rarely if ever a good environment, but happen too often in the OJ. Players also need...

Do you think HockeyTV broadcasting all games has had any effect on game attendance?

Re: 2018-19 Signings
It really depends on where the player wants to go with his junior career. If the player is staying local at Jr C and or Jr B then an agent/advisor wont likely be worth it. In reality this scenario fits most players in the GOJHL and likely all in Jr C However for a player that either isn't local or p...

Re: OHA ATTENDANCE FIGURES
It should also be noted that 7 of the top 10 teams are from the GOJHL including 4 of the top 5. Yet the OHA in its wisdom has until now fought against Jr A hockey west of the GTA. Also of interest is that there is only 1 team that has this volume of support that is not west of the GTA.

Re: Brantford going Jr A
The OJHL is the most expensive of all legitimate Junior hockey leagues. Some of the outlaw leagues cost more. I don't know that you can realistically operate a team at the Jr A level if you don't plan to billet some players

At the end of the day, differing opinions on teams in this league and the way they are operated should not open the door for personal attacks on individuals and their families, however it is not only condoned on this site but seems to be encouraged by the powers that be. I for one simply got fed up ...

Looks pretty quiet in here this year. During previous seasons, I used to start threads about many different things in the league. I used to say that I was trying to pump more life into this forum. Well, after being told by a few members that my threads were useless, etc, and having the owner of the...

Re: Strathroy Rockets
1 point in the last 8 games shouldn't be as acceptable as it appears to be. 2 of the next 3 are against the powerhouse London Nationals so it is going to tough to turn this around. With a powerplay clicking at a dismal 8.89% and sporting the GOJHL's worst penalty kill a turn around may not be on the...

Re: Ancaster now pay-to-play...
I would think the kid being traded away would receive a pro rated refund. As for the player being traded to Ancaster, they always have the option of refusing to report thereby forcing themselves to be released or retained by the original team. A send down to Jr C might be a better option than having...

Re: Ancaster now pay-to-play...
First cages imposed throughout the OHA, now pay to play like they do in the OJ. What next? Make the players supply their own sticks and tape because they are expensive?. Buy their own windsuits and have their parents drive them to the road games. I thought junior hockey was supposed to be different ...

Re: 2017-18 West Predictions
Very nicely written, it might be interesting to see a study that compares all head and neck injuries in junior hockey when sporting full cages vs half shields. Cages will limit facial and dental injuries but wont totally eliminate them. The exhibition games I saw involved a lot more head contact esp...

Re: New Rockets Coach
I just love good jr b hockey. I hope all teams in jr b are competitive with no lame ducks. I wonder sometimes there are just not enough players out there for the teams. Ontario is actually thought to have a surplus players that can play at the higher levels by several QMJHL, USHL and many Jr A team...

Re: New Rockets Coach
To be fair, it really depends on how you are connected to the team in question. Rocketgirl is more than just a fan, she has very close ties that are actively engaged in the teams operation and thereby subject to repercussions that the everyday fan is not subject to. It is a different standard.

He is the GM so of course he was in attendance. I don't think I have ever seen a team drag their feet this much when naming their head coach, and certainly not going into main camp. It is generally a very proud moment for an organization when the team unveils who will lead the on ice product for the...

Most of the teams have announced their coaching staffs but many have yet to announce significant roster moves for the upcoming season. This is where an active transaction page would be useful.
