Re: Toffolo investigating GTHL
GMHL (non sanctioned, supposed junior league) not the GTHL (Greater Toronto Hockey League) which is minor hockey.

Re: Sutherland cup semi-finals, and predictions thread
Just a thought, but I always thought it odd re the ESK/Cali series last year in that everyone places the ESK series win with the outstanding play (and it was) of their goalie. No one ever mentioned that the kid Cali had in the pipes last year was just as good. He held his team in on many occasions w...

Re: Finals, Listowel vs Elmira Predictions
I agree. You had two two officials that could not identify a "hockey play" from a callable infraction (for the record there were aweful calls both ways) . They were completely out of their element. Had to love how the one strips gives his ear to the Listy coach for a good 3 minutes before ...

Re: Finals, Listowel vs Elmira Predictions
What are your thoughts after the game 3 officiating in the Mid West final....Listy 1-11 on the PP, ESK 2-7 on the PP...that's 18 calls in a 60 minute game

Re: Sutherland Cup Semi Finals; Listowel vs London
You are right...Cali will be in tough if a pair of refs show up for game 6 that have the onions to actually make the calls. You can not say that Caledonia got the short end of the stick re reffing tonight. Those early boarding calls against Elmira were aweful, the second leading to the first goal.

3-2 in regulation. Some interesting calls in this one.

Re: New rules for 2017-2018 season
Rule Change: Mandate the rubber hose net pegs. Way too many nets come off on great scoring chances using the small pin pegs....I believe a couple of times may have been on purpose (< = sarcasm), too often effecting game outcomes. If you don't like this, citing safety concerns, give the ref's discrec...

Re: Things got out of hand
Gotta chime in here. The reffing leaves a lot to be desired in the GOJHL, as it does in the OJHL and other junior leagues in Ontario. The common denominator is the OHA and how they mandate their officials call games. There is very little game management by feel or pulse of what is happening on the i...

Re: 2016 SHOWCASE WEEKEND
Leamington player hit/or tried to hit (couldn't see) Elmira player in face with his helmet after a little pushing match. He had pulled off the Elmira helmet, refs were in between and he swung the helmet around them.

Re: Stratford Cullitons Cherrey Cup Champions
The article re the less than attractive actions and behaviour of the Cullitons fans is bang on. The statement issued by the team is a little disappointing and naive in that it is indicating there is only an issue with the one fan. They must not watch their own home games. I have seen issues with som...

Re: Terrible reffing
Look no further than in Stratford last Night. ESK got their back sides handed to them in the first, down 4-0 after one. Come out in the second and get an early one to make it 4-1. My old eyes saw another one go in a couple of minutes later...unfortunately no one in strips did. The net bulging is the...

You know what they say, the best defence is a good offence, unfortunately it often present you in an even worse light. Just googled Hockeyhead....it asked me if I mean't Hockey Hair, lol...I say no more, but to help you out a bit, a Metalhead likes heavy metal music, a Wrenchhead is into car repairs...

Re: Suspension Appeal
Hmmm...not exactly an accurate account of the events. I would say that the writer was not at the game. As a long time SK fan, I was. The appeal process included video, one from CTV and other from the home team taping. One from each side of the ice. Both videos show that the hit was shoulder to shoul...
