Re: Whalers looked great this year, won Russell Cup
Third year team, not a second!! There were no other good teams in this league. Actually the rest of the teams really sucked compared to the last three or four years. The Whalers were the best team money could buy. Good for them. Bad for the league. Many people who went to see a game this year didn't...

Re: Coaching changes
Are you kidding me?? Mark Barrick wants to get back into Jr. B hockey that much that he would sell his soul to the devil?? His team didn't even finish the year in the GMHL. I guess Toe Blake and Punch Imlach were not available.

Re: Coaching changes
Any word that Thorold is moving to Niagara On The Lake?? Rumour has it the Whaler's owner is going to have a team in the Shoe. He would have to sell the Whaler's as you can't be involved with both a GMHL and a OHA team.

Barnes out in Pelham
I heard someone saying that Scott Barnes has left Pelham to go back to the STA Midget Major team. Is that fact or just a rumour?

Re: Port Colborne
The Whalers just got rid of St. George in four straight. Looked like a Jr. A team playing a Jr. C team. They are now waiting for the winner of the North Division. That should be another sweep. Mr. Masterson just proved again that you can buy a Championship.

Re: Port Colborne
The Niagara Whalers are a pretty good team. Would beat any Jr. B team. Check out their lineup. They have many ex Corvairs and Falcons who are now 21 along with a few good other players. Way too good for the GMHL and will win in a cake walk. I guess the point is their ownership went in with the idea ...

It's looks like the Niagara Whalers are going to win the GMHL Championship. It only took them 3 years to build what it took Tim Toffolo 11 years to destroy.

Re: Thorold Blackhawks.
The Niagara Whalers won't move. They make their money from European and American players and they use it to bring in 21 year olds that cost them a ton of money. The reason these teams are not in the OHA is their ability to bring in as many European and American players as possible. Hockey Canada won...

The only reason the OHA has left Buffalo in the league so people didn't laugh at Pelham any longer (or as much).

Re: Niagara
The Whalers will not lose a game in the playoffs. When you pay players against teams that make their players pay, it only makes sense you will be better. Except for Niagara, the league is really that shitty.

Re: Niagara
He is playing now. He had 7 points tonight in a 19-3 win over Tottenhem. Whalers should walk through the remainder of the season and the playoffs. They have bought a winner while the rest of the league is crap.

Re: Thorold Blackhawks
Pelham is also for sale...............but they have been sale for the last 10 years!! lol Heard the league has a $150,000.00 minimum if a team wants to sell. St. Catharines and Niagara Falls might be worth half that, but the rest aren't worth a dime. Won't be long before players will be paying 3-5k ...

I would fire the GM of Pelham over that one. Oh wait, the Owner is the GM!!! lol Typical Toffolo team. One step forward, three steps back!

Re: Things got out of hand
You can sum up the bad refereeing in two words.............Bob Morley!!!! He was the laziest and most brutal referee in OHA history and now he is their leader in the OHA office.

The OHL, WHL and the QMJHL do not fall under Hockey Canada. They are partners of Hockey Canada, but are not governed by them. The GOJHL can do the same thing.

https://thejuniorhockeynews.com/the-death-pool-special-report-gojhl-buffalo-regals-brought-back-to-life/ This article sums everything up. It's all about the money. The GOJHL will continue to be a joke because of decisions made by the OHA. With the Tier Two Jr. A issue and now this, I would think it'...

Re: Lincoln folded
That's the 10th team the GMHL has lost since last season. When you have people who run the league who only care about money and not their franchises, this is bound to happen. Sucks for Niagara now as they will have further travel without Lincoln. I think they were suppose to play them 4 or 5 more ti...

Re: Buffalo has FOLDED
The sad part about all of this, nobody in the OHA office will be disciplined for the way the whole Buffalo situation was handled. They should have never been let back in. They have made a joke out of the GOJHL and the Niagara Region. I agree that all points against Buffalo (wins and player's points)...

Re: Buffalo - Pelham
Buffalo is a disgrace and someone in the OHA office should be fired. Pelham is better, but they can only compete with Ancaster, Niagara Falls, Thorold and Welland who are not very good. Fort Erie is a disaster and will remain that way if American players remain imports season after season (rule has ...

Shouldn't lose a game with that line-up. In a league that most players "pay to play," Masterson is up to his old tricks of paying players to win a Championship. Has a little smell of "Caledonia and the old Niagara Falls Canucks" to it!! lol

Re: Buffalo Regals
The worst thing is, their management is so stupid. Their kids are actually jerks on the ice and that pisses off the other teams even more. It's going to all explode one night and there will be kids hurt and the only people to blame are the assholes sitting in the OHA office.

Nobody wants to play Buffalo anymore. You have to agree with the comments in this article. "Player's are going to get hurt" and "it was an OHA decision to let them back in, not the GOJHL." Who does the OHA answer to, the OHF?? If the OHA is too stupid to do anything about them, t...

That's the joke the OHA is. The Regals held the GOJHL over a legal barrel that they had to be let back in when they wanted to. Time for the OHA to grow some and find a legal way to get rid of them.
