Re: Chatham
There has already been 8-0, 9-0, 9-1, 9-2. Points against Buffalo are not earned unless you call fishing in a barrel is fishing.

Re: Chatham
It's because the Coaches and General Managers can change the score sheet after the game is done but before it becomes official.
It's also not fair that the winner is always from the Golden Horseshoe conference and they can run up the points when they play Buffalo.

Re: Strathroy Rockets
I was at the game vs Chatham on Saturday. As a fan I hated every second that I had to be there. The seating is terrible with only 2 rows on either side. The sound system is worse than a bus terminal. I'm sure there is mold through-out and lets face it, the city is unlikely to put any money in the ar...

Re: Strathroy Rockets
A tough road ahead for the Rockets for sure.
Can anyone shed some light to why they still play in the old barn when they have a beautiful arena in town. Attendance is a key source of revenue for a community owned team and the old barn seems to be only able to handle 250 or so.

Re: Strathroy Rockets
Well here we go yet again Rockets fans, another dismal outing in Komoka. Not sure what it’s going to take to right the ship but it's definitely taking on water. They seem to have completely gone off their game since the game against Lasalle, injuries aren’t helping. The turning point for the Rocket...

Chatham has won 4 out of the last 5 when they beat Strathroy 14-0 with 9 out of 10 possible points (4-0-1). Strathroy has not won since this game and have only a tie (0-5-1). Never-the-less, I'm still looking forward to this game as I think the Rockets will be up and ready for the game on Saturday. ...

Now it is up to the coaching staff to get the boys motivated and put this drubbing behind them. Whether or not it is 10, 14 or 20-0, it is one game out of 50 or so. The real issue would be if you were consistently getting your behinds handed to you! I am sure they will bounce back...and I will bet ...

Re: Chatham De-Commitments
Huge gain for Dresden and a huge loss for Chatham. Chatham has been missing consistent goaltending in the early part of the season and has been less than effective scoring goals.

This is a very young team for sure. I'm not surprised that the vets are leaving. Ownership continues to show no interest in the team.

Re: Chatham vs London
Their previous coach had to go. The team was full of star players and on paper they were the best team in the west. Against the weaker teams they could just roll their lines and everyone was happy. Against a team like London, they needed to do what every team does and that's match lines and play the...

Re: Chatham vs London
Looks like Chatham had more power plays than London. And how can a ref get a spearing penalty wrong? More so, why would a player get involved in something like that with no time on the clock, in a huge game like that. Sorry Brad, I'm not buying it. No discipline, or a coach that can't control his p...

Re: Chatham vs London
I agree with all of the comments about game 2. The reffing was very one sided and they knew it, but by the time they started to call it straight it was to late. The big players for Chatham need to step up in game 3. Where was Beenackers, Yetman, Sarfati, D`Agostino and Thompson? These guys need to s...

Chatham - St. Thomas series is turning out to be very exciting. Both games won by Chatham but only by 1 goal each time. Both starting goalies have played terrific.

It should also be interesting tonight in Chatham. The game doe not mean anything in the standings, so will the teams play their AP's or will they try to keep momentum into the playoffs?

Re: Maroons officially add Brendan D'Agostino
I prefer the Vipers approach (good ownership, good off-season scouting, good coaching and create a positive team environment). The Maroon approach is lazy ownership, no off-season scouting, poor coaching, spend a lot of money on players and no money on what the players need and create a terrible tea...

Re: Disparity in League
It's a simple fix, as I have said on here before. Make one division of all the top teams, the deep pocket teams. It would probably be the best division of Jr. Hockey in Ontario, and have interest of the scouts for both OHL and NCAA. The other two divisions in the GOJHL can be development of feeder ...

Re: Maroons FIRE Verbeek
Has anyone heard what's happening with the coaching situation in Chatham? I can only assume they are taking their time in finding the right fit because of the Christmas break, but that ends next week and would only make sense that the new coach would want a few practice's before their next game.

I fully agree that the defense needs help and I would think they are looking to improve it. To me they Maroons have the best 4 line squad up front in the conference plus the best 1-2 combination in net. They will certainly be a tough team team to deal with when they get 2 more defense.

The Chatham Maroons acquired defenceman Cole Dezainde from the Strathroy Rockets and sent forward Brendan Ritchie to the Blenheim Blades / Dresden Kings.
I expect more defenceman to be picked up for Chatham. The defence is the weakest part of the roster at this time.

Lots of trouble in Chatham. Most if not all of the players are sick and tired of Verbeek already. He continues to yell and scream at the players to the point of almost abuse. The ownership got what they wanted, a chip off the old block (ie incompetence) Just like they are. The players all want out.

Well. I went to the game tonight against St. Thomas. The Maroons played very well against a good St. Thomas team. I have to admit that I was unsure about Verbeek and his coaching skills, but he has proven to be very capable. He is still a bit hot under the collar at times but I hope he will get that...

I went to the rink on Saturday to check out the Maroon’s first day of camp. Oh boy, do they have their work cut out for them. Just a handful of vets there and the hopefuls did not look all that promising. I know it was only day one, but it looked pretty bad. I will check them out later in the week t...
