Re: Kilty B's vs Falcons
I am kind of hoping for the same thing. Sure do miss the banter that used to grace these forums especially around playoff time. I am not a big fan of face book and many forums have gone this way.

Re: Kilty B's vs Falcons
So it will be a Stratford-Leamington final for the Sutherland this year. To be honest I was a little disappointed watching the Kilty "B"s give up five unanswered goals in the third period at home against the Flyers to bow out of the running. They were defeated by three goals in both home g...

Playoffs?
Have not been on here for quite some time. I don't seem to be able to find any playoff information for the current season. Has Covid cancelled this year as well?

Well, how was that for a final? A seven game series with a one goal differential between the teams. It just doesn't get any better than that!

Re: Waterloo, London Suthy Finals
I did not get to the game yesterday but took a look at the gamesheet. I see that Waterloo was given a powerplay in the last minute which they used to tie the game and send it to overtime. London had taken the lead a short time earlier on a powerplay goal of their own and the Sisken goal would appear...

Re: Sutherland Cup Semis
Niagara Falls goin out with a derogotory comment to finish the season off. Golden Hoseshoe last hope. Now havent one a suthy cup final game in 3 straigt seasons Which obviously pleases you to no end for whatever reason Sugar King. It is not the fault of the Canucks or Falcons that Lockport or a few...

Re: Sutherland Cup Semis
Unfortunately the determination of the wildcard entry will always be in question for some reason or another. The best way would be the creation of a fourth division thus eliminating the need for the wildcard. Another obstacle is the seeding of the teams. You can only gain an accurate value of wins, ...

Anyone know what happened to this site? I have tried to get on for a few weeks now and all I get is a blank Network 54 screen. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: SHOULD WE HAVE A NEW PLAYOFF FORMAT?
Unless the teams compete against each other via inter-division on a regular basis you would not necessarily get an accurate ranking of the top sixteen teams. Some team that plays in a weaker division may end up being ranked higher than a team that competes in a more-balanced division and therefore d...

Re: Caledonia vs St.Catharines, Finals, Predictions
I have to agree. The "next man up" theory works better for the Corvairs in this instance. In hindsight you also need to structure your team so that they can adjust to any opponent and not just one. Like you stated earlier, St. Catharines was put together to beat Caledonia but that is not w...

Re: Caledonia vs St.Catharines, Finals, Predictions
In looking at the game sheet from March 24 it looks like Miskolczi was issued a GRM63 which according to the OHA rule book is a discriminatory slur which is good for seven games minimum. Not aware of what led to this event during the Ancaster series but it turned out to be a major blow to any chance...

Re: Caledonia vs St.Catharines, Finals, Predictions
The missing Falcons were definitely no fault of the Corvairs but probably a really good reason why the score was 6-0.

Re: WHICH TEAMS SHOULD QUALIFY FOR THE PLAYOFFS?
The lack of a fourth division determines the need for this wildcard in the first place. If another division was created consisting of teams such as the return of the Streetsville Derbys, Bramalea Blues and some of the fat that could be cut from the GTA portion of the OPJHL then you could have only t...

Re: St.Catharines vs Ancaster thread
This seven game series now makes it almost impossible for one of the Golden Horseshoe teams to qualify for the wildcard with seven or more losses. The only way would be for either Ancaster or St. Catharines to knock off Caledonia in the final and have the Corvairs qualify as the wildcard. Highly unl...

Re: St.Catharines vs Ancaster thread
Not by me! Ancaster played the Falcons tough all season just like St. Catharines was the only team that gave the Corvairs fits all year. For that reason I am hoping that the Falcons can pull it off as it should make for a much better final. It does not look like Niagara Falls will be around much lon...

Re: Where is Everyone?
I guess that it is time to ask this question once again Rocket Girl. We are part way through the first round and still not much action on here. I had a pretty good thread going on the Golden Horseshoe site until someone decided to play the I am being critical of Caledonia card which cut that short i...

Re: Playoff Scheduling
I can assure you that I do not have any horse in the race. If I was going to be critical of the Corvairs believe me you would know about it and I would feel the same if it were two different teams in the same situation. Just found the scheduling situation a little cloudy but thanks for clearing that...

Re: Playoff Scheduling
For the sheer lack of competition it will be a blessing that it will be over quickly for the Meteors. I cannot understand that if Caledonia and Fort Erie are starting their series so soon why the other groups do not follow suit. It seems that it will put them at a real disadvantage for the next roun...

Playoff Scheduling
I was looking at the schedules for the quarter finals and it looks like Caledonia will have almost swept Fort Erie and be resting up while the other three series will be really just getting under way. How can there be such a discrepancy in start times of these series? Available ice times can't be us...

A major stumbling block for the Falcons in their quest could be the Ancaster Avalanche. Let's not forget about the potential of this club for an upset or two.

jimmorrison, you just hit the nail right on the head! I really believe that most people are really getting tired of seeing the same scenario every year with Caledonia, St. Catharines, and London at the top of the heap. The Midwest seems to be the only division that can surprise us with a different w...

Buffalo Regals
I cannot understand why this organization cannot ice a solid team. There are many talented teenage hockey players in the Western New York area. I had the opportunity to watch the Buffalo Junior Sabres of the OJHL play recently and they have a very competitive team in a tough division. I am wondering...
