Re: GOJHL AGM Today
This is a ridiculous situation. A rogue league... In the OHA? I would make the whole junior B league sit it out until they get it straightened out. Either shut down the infrastructure that is at the root of this dispute or all endorse it. If they just want GMHL 2 then proceed I can see now why Caled...

Just think if he does get suspending for the season he could go catch on with the GMHL. I bet they wouldn't hold the OHA suspension against him. Just checked and it looks like the London Lakers have his GMHL rights... hahaha...

Re: Halton Ravens relocate to St. George
Harry Howelll was a great rink when I covered their one off game their last season in Halton. I heard it was push back from the powers that be in Hamilton that didn't want to seem to "endorse" sudo Junior A hockey in their city. (They probably wanted to protect the Bulldogs fanbase. Althou...

Re: replay
Video replay wouldn't be impossible. I am not sure if they would overturn a game result the day after even if they were able to review and see it was kicked in. All they really have to do is institute a minimum level of video coverage that is acceptable. The quality I've seen out of some teams (SD, ...

Re: Caledonia and Ancaster games on Cable 14
Gotta admit I am excited to see the Corvairs back on television regularly where they belong. I always felt trapping good hockey action behind the HockeyTV paywall was stupid. It doesn't generate any significant revenue for the clubs themselves. As I am a distance Rogers Cable customer I (as well as ...

All I figure is whoever pays for the uniforms gets to pick how they look. Do think they look LA Kings.. ish.
Probably more sentimental to the musclebound bird though. Oh well... they could wear pyjamas during games and will still dominate this year.

Can someone post the information where donations can be given to the family. I want to do my part to make sure his wife and young daughter are taken care of. It breaks my heart as I have 2 young boys.

Re: Guy Polillo signs with St. George Ravens...
Quite the cudo to the St. George Ravens for making this happen. Doesn't surprise me though as it lets Guy keep playing hockey at a pretty good level and earn some money for school for after at the same time (and possibly get some pro work after). Will be a good squad when all the pieces are put toge...

Lambton Shore Predators to Komoka?
Notice Wesley Shaw posted on Facebook that the Lambton Shore Predators are making the move to Komoka. Pictures of the rink in Komoka paint it as an impressive place to play. Never made it to a Predators game in the past. Nice to see if true the community gets a step up from the Komoka Dragons GMHL t...

Re: Simcoe Storm headed for Waterford
No need to fold the Storm at all. They need a new rink.. and they found one in Waterford. Tonner will move the team there and start work on another season of a team making it's way back to even more respectability. Have to somehow make my way down to see a game sometime. I've never been to either th...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
I have seen 2 angles of it and it doesn't look nearly as bad as something to justify a 4 game suspension. It looked like Lindberg basically upended the Falcons player at worst. Tripping call to say the least. Problem with video is the penalty happened away from the play so 1 camera was moving back t...

Re: How will the OHA deal with the Buffalo/Thorold embarrassments next year
All I hope is that the league puts measures in place... checks and balances... so that what happened in Thorold never happens again. At least I know now why Thorold never got that Club 90 Member for its operations... notice a few other GOJHL teams are absent as well... http://www.oha.pointstreaksite...

Re: 99ers making the playoffs...
So true about the former Corvairs... Pace.. Finger.. they all seem to be making an impact. This is a team that could have an impact. When expectations are low expect this team to shine. Coaching change made all the difference. And the goaltending by Reinhart has been strong as well. Can't wait to fo...

99ers making the playoffs...
Gotta say I'm really looking forward to this series. To start off; the team really pulling together to steal the final playoff spot from Brampton. I know its a long shot but I hope Brantford can make every game with Listowel a battle. If they stick together, avoid penalties and trap, trap, trap mayb...

Re: Thorold Blackhawks.
I always wondered about the GMHL teams that do ok as well. The St. George Ravens, Niagara Whalers, Tillsonburg Hurricanes (although the naming issue with 2 Hurricanes teams). Why not let a few of these teams legitimize their operations and join the league? Im not in favour of contraction at all as t...

Re: Thorold Blackhawks.
They should have Brantford move over and play in the GHL playoffs, this way its consistent number of teams in the three leagues. I really like this idea. Create a wildcard position in the GHC for whatever team finishes 9th with the best record. Agreed and hope it can become a reality should Thorold...

Re: Buffalo has FOLDED
Please move the team to a Canadian city. Can't be an easy go of icing a team that has to play by different rules to put together a team. It's like inserting a GMHL team into the GO and expecting good results right away... wait... that's probably exactly what it was like.

Re: Lincoln folded
It's too bad. Have to admit Jeff Tallman was one of the GMHL owners I could honestly say I respected. We covered a handful of games for the team early in their season. The team was new and had trouble competing some nights (St. George, Kingsville, etc.) but they did a good job and were respectable. ...

Except in the GMHL there is nothing wrong with paying or not-making players pay to play on a team. It's like the wild west where the prize is the "Russell Cup". Only issue I see is frustration by smaller market teams to ice competitive teams. Consistency doesn't exist unless an owners is w...

Bet border issues and travel were some of the reasoning.
Glad they are back. We needed parity with the conferences. Here's hoping we have skill parity somewhat between them as well. Don't need more lopsided scores.

Chuck Williams (GOJHL Commissioner) has a good understand of what the league needs to do to get noticed more on the North American & world stage. It is just now going into his second year so I'm sure they have lots of new promotional ideas in the pipe.

5 minutes further by pure driving distance from previous Burlington home. Bigger issue was the horrible fan experience with seating there and the fact fan attendance was not great.

Awesome news for St. George Dukes fans. Beats heading out of town to watch a game.
Know the organization so it should be a competitive team as it has been for the last few seasons since they bought the team. They love signing former Corvairs as well so easy relocation.
