Re: New Commissioner
I do call them minor for the following reasons. 1--Going to 2 Conferences has been talked about for years. 2--Craig has been basically been filling that role for months . Major Announcements would be, follow up on the projects the league announced earlier, 1--Go independent 2--Affiliate With BC Tier...

Re: New Commissioner
You stated that the League continues to make announcements in the re-shaping of the GOJHL. Two minor announcements have been made, Craig replaces Tim as commish (good choice) and the conferences are reduced too 2 from 3. Where are the announcements you say the league continues to make in the re-shap...

Re: New Commissioner
Last spring there was talk about the league heading into a new direction, going from 3 conferences too two is reshaping in your mind but not mine. The GOJHL has been a door mat for the OJHL for years( you should know that) and the powers to be were looking at different options for the league to oper...

Rocket Girl, where is the reshaping of the GOJHL. I'm hoping you are right but where is it and is it happening for the 24/25 season ?

New Direction
Is there any news yet on which direction the GOJHL will be taking beginning with the 2024-2025 schedule.
There were different options thrown around in the late spring, are any of them being considered ?

The Round Robin
Listowel and St.Mary's game tonight, "WOW" I watched it on Flo, what a game.
Two great teams battle right down to the final buzzer.
Absolutely the best game I've seen this year.
Three real good teams battling for the finals, too bad only two will make it.

Michigan Goal
I believe the OHA referees are the only mislead, mismanaged group of officials that have ever called off a legitimate Michigan goal (lacrosse style wraparound). The rule states that the player must have the stick below shoulder level and below the crossbar when putting the puck in the net. The offici...

I watched the London vs Fort erie game Saturday night on Flo Hockey. Its too bad that all Flo Hockey games were not presented in the fashion this game was broadcasted. Professional all the way, commentators, replays, penalty clock and announcers that knew the game. Great job Niagara College. Hope to...

The Future Meaming of GOJHL
The league is reducing the number of 20 year olds every year. The OJ keep taking the most talented 16,17 and 18 year olds every year. Where do you think the league will end up in near future, -=-=-=-=In 3 to 5 years GOJHL will stand for-=-=-= "Greater Ontario Juvenile Hockey League" This w...

Come on RG, take off those rose coloured glasses, I find most of your post interesting but your view on Simmons is way off. He hasn't advanced the league, he's giving it away. He doesn't make decisions, his new side kick does it for him now.

Didn't there was 4 or 5 teams iinterested in moving.
I know of 2 teams that have expressed interest and are waiting to see if the OJ are planning to expand again.
Get rid of the GOJHL and the OHA. Let Junior Hockey be governed by the OHF and Hockey Canada.

First it was Leamington leaving for the OJ and now I just learned that Niagara Falls will also leave for the OJ beginning in Sept of this year. The owners approved the move because they were offered another franchise which they will sell for $400,000. They gave their footprint away 5 years ago and n...

Leamington will begin play in the OJHL beginning September, 2023.
Want a reliable source, ask any of the owners or GM's that attended
the last 2 GOJHL meetings.( not sure if its being appealed)

Re: Brent Resigns (again)
The replacement would need a 75% in favour from owners. This would
eliminate Simmons. There's not a lot of owners that think he knows what
hes doing in his current role let alone let him become the commissioner

Simple logic,
Those who invest, will be among the best,
Those who don't spend, will have a quick end.

Re: Sutherland Cup
Caledonia would have been in the Round Robin if the GOJHL would have let
them use 17 twenty year olds again and 11 players from the OHL.
Yep, the Falcon sweep aside the SNORvairs 10 straight this year, not including
the forfeited game

This series has turned out to be exactly what we thought it would be. The best
two teams in the Shoe battling it out for the Conference title.
Great goaltending, hard hitting, fast pace with a little taste of nasty
Game 6 goes Friday night at 7pm at the Jack Gatecliff Arena in St.Catharines.
