Re: St.Catharines Falcons puzzling moves

Wow. Why do the Falcons bring in these kind of players. A 5 minute penalty in a playoff game could cost a team the series.

Re: St.Catharines Falcons puzzling moves

Looks like the Falcons added some grit. But he has to focus on the opposition, not the officials... St. Catharines - Matt Bazarin - (High Sticking) (HS), 2 MIN, 1:27 St. Catharines - Matt Bazarin - (Abuse of Officials) (Game Misconduct) (GM21), 0 MIN, 4:35 St. Catharines - Matt Bazarin - (Physical A...

Looks like Niagara Falls won that trade so far. Two straight wins over the Falcons. Falcons lost again in Hamilton tonight.

Re: Player Trade Deadline

Why would anyone admit to having a payroll? It's against the rules. Every team breaks rules. Look at Fort Erie when their gm was suspended from the team, he got caught in the dressing room. Nobody is going to say they pay players so the oha can drop the hammer on them. lol The reason they took the y...

St.Catharines Falcons puzzling moves

The Falcons have made some interesting recent moves. First it looked like they were throwing in the towel on this season when they dealt a pair of top players to Niagara Falls for a lot less talent in return. Then they added a veteran scorer from Fort Erie, and brought in a veteran D from a higher l...

If this alleged 28K is true then the gojhl need to put a stop to this! Buying championships should not happen in amateur sports.
Its been done for years. NIagara Falls bought a lot of championships in the 90's/early 2000's. Pretty sure London is paying for players as well.

Listowel interests me. They look like they're built on defence & goaltending. A winning formula, but will they get those clutch goals in the playoffs? They really need a pair of snipers.

I guess not many expected much out of St.Marys. I expected them to have a good season, but not a 7-1 start good.

Re: Problems in Paradise

They just lost one of their better forwards to Caledonia. The kid was unhappy in Pelham since day one. Happy to see him get a chance at a cup.

Pelham picked up a pretty good goalie from Caledonia as well.

Re: Maroons almost toast?

This doesn't surprise me. As was stated above, you can't expect to win with one or two lines. That, and the coach isn't getting anything out of his top players. The kids from Caledonia have played like they could care less how their season goes. That tells most of the story right there. Terrible coa...

I'm going to say;

Chatham & London battle for first in the west

Listowel finishes first in the mid-west

St.Catharines & Niagara Falls battle all season for top spot in the shoe
I didn't do too bad, I guess. Got the MidWest and the Shoe right.

Re: Last 10 Games

Strathroy looks great this season. They can realistically still finish as high as 4th place. Only 4 games below .500, not bad for a team that had a rough start to their season. After a few bad years it looks like the Rocket's are well on their way to becoming a top team in the West again. I've been ...

Re: London still going strong!

Coaching has been their biggest problem for several years now. You can't just load up on talent and expect the kids to find their own chemistry. Helping them fit in with each other is the coaches job. Look at St.Catharines, a very well coached team. They load up on talent, then trade away the kids ...

In Brad's defense, I think we've all seen games where a ref has a vendetta. I remember a Port vs Fort Erie game where the calls were 9-1 halfway through the game. You could see the smirk on the refs face.

It does seem like teams rush into making moves early these days. Maybe because they figure they need to find talent early, before other teams grab players. The Falcons are known for big moves though, some of them are very surprising. A few years ago they would trade skilled players to Thorold, the l...

Re: First week surprises, and thoughts

Not sure why Pelham has struggled, but they'll work through it. I look at it like there's two divisions in one here. You have, Niagara Falls, Hamilton, St.Cathairnes, and Pelham. They are capable of beating each other any night. Then there's the jokes of the league; Welland, Fort Erie, Lockport, and...
