Re: Falcons, Canucks make trade

Christian Girhiny is probably the best player in the league right now. He has amazing hands.

Re: Last 10 Games

Strathroy looks great this season. They can realistically still finish as high as 4th place. Only 4 games below .500, not bad for a team that had a rough start to their season. After a few bad years it looks like the Rocket's are well on their way to becoming a top team in the West again. I've been ...

Re: London still going strong!

Coaching has been their biggest problem for several years now. You can't just load up on talent and expect the kids to find their own chemistry. Helping them fit in with each other is the coaches job. Look at St.Catharines, a very well coached team. They load up on talent, then trade away the kids ...

Re: St Mary's Blows out Chatham

In Brad's defense, I think we've all seen games where a ref has a vendetta. I remember a Port vs Fort Erie game where the calls were 9-1 halfway through the game. You could see the smirk on the refs face.

Re: First week surprises, and thoughts

It does seem like teams rush into making moves early these days. Maybe because they figure they need to find talent early, before other teams grab players. The Falcons are known for big moves though, some of them are very surprising. A few years ago they would trade skilled players to Thorold, the l...

Re: First week surprises, and thoughts

Not sure why Pelham has struggled, but they'll work through it. I look at it like there's two divisions in one here. You have, Niagara Falls, Hamilton, St.Cathairnes, and Pelham. They are capable of beating each other any night. Then there's the jokes of the league; Welland, Fort Erie, Lockport, and...

Falcons, Canucks make trade

Some moves made by both teams. Welland added some scoring as well. Niagara Falls Crouch, Nate (F) released Niagara Falls Eden, Carson (F) acquired in trade from St. Catharines Niagara Falls Maidens, Matthew (F) traded to Welland Niagara Falls Perlic, Noah (F) acquired in trade from St. Catharines St...

Niagara Falls hangs on for the 5-4 win. Looks like the Panthers ran into some penalty trouble in this game. Niagara Falls has a great power play, have to stay out of the box.

Re: First week surprises, and thoughts

Pelham's on fire, 5-0 start to their season. Yep they have been quite good. Lets wait till they play Niagara Falls and St. Catharines though. I can't wait to see how they stack up against them. A longtime family friend's grandson is a top player on Pelham, so I have a bit of a soft spot for that gr...

Big game on Friday

Niagara Falls and Pelham play Friday in the Falls. Both teams are undefeated, and they might finish as the top 2 teams in the division this season. Niagara Falls(4-0) looks to have the deepest offence in the division. Evans & Kyle look like scoring machines, and they have a solid group of defencemen...

Re: First week surprises, and thoughts

I disagree with you there. I thought Welland hasn't looked too bad considering they've had three ice times with the full team. Sloppy and things need to get better, but defense looks Ok and goaltending looks real solid for them. The games I've seen from Hamilton, they haven't impressed me. I think ...

Yes, a full pass, year round, not just the GOJHL. All games are on demand too once they are played so one can go back and view them again.
For a full pass, that's not that bad of a deal.

First week surprises, and thoughts

Seeing Niagara Falls off to a 2-0 start isn't a huge surprise. They have a deep offence, solid defence, and a great goalie. Seeing them put up 12 goals in 2 games against the St.Catharines Falcons has been a big surprise. Some say the Falcons are in a bit of a re-build this year. But that isn't some...

Listowel finishes first in the mid-west

St.Catharines & Niagara Falls battle all season for top spot in the shoe

I think having the top 16 teams overall, make the playoffs would be fun. 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, etc. I know the travel costs would make that very difficult though.

Re: 2018-19 Signings

St.Marys looks like they'll win quite a few games this season. I've heard Welland will be better than the last few years this year. Should be an interesting season.
