Re: 2021-2022 Season

I am delighted that there will be hockey to watch.

Now about actually going to a game, still need to get my second shot plus a two week waiting period before I can enter the rink. Think I will be miss home openers.

Re: Tie vs Shootout

NOOO to shootout. As a league that had shootouts and then reverted to OT and a tie if needed, is a much better way to determine a TEAM game rather than have specialty skills of "a shooter" versus just the goalie. I really hate shootouts.

Re: Playoff Predictions

Not predicting anything since I haven't seen any games other than home ones but I will provide what the season series produced from the perspective of the higher placed team. London vs. Sarnia = 6-0 Leamington vs Komoka = 5-1 St. Marys vs Strathroy = 2-3-0-1 (tied their first game) LaSalle vs. Chath...

Re: Affiliation

I thought I heard/read that there are no longer any affiliations between teams and that players can go where they wish. Cunningham is apparently from Chatham so perhaps Blenheim is a better fit travel-wise for him in Jr C rather than Mooretown?

Can you tell us who else is leaving Sarnia?
I believe that Jr B doesn't have overagers but Jr A and Jr C do.

Sarnia was short of players for both games against Chatham (about 4 or 5) but did call up a couple of players to try and fill the gaps. Three players have been out due to suspensions.

Re: Goalie scores empty netter in 2O/T

This was not the first goal by a goaltender in the West. How many remember this? From the league record book - (Goals By A Goaltender: John Faulkner (Sarnia Blast) vs St. Thomas Stars Dec. 17, 2006) I remember hearing about that game and how the video of that goal was wiped from the camera before a...

Went and looked at PS and it shows a 7:10 start in Leamington. Something changed? or someone made a mistake?
Just curious

Re: Playoff format

i would like to see a 16 team playoff but make it a bit more like what I have seen in Jr B Lacrosse. They have 2 conferences -- East and West and then within those it is further divided up into 3 divisions each. Of course, the area for Jr B is quite spread out amongst the province, hence 3 divisions...

Re: GOJHL AGM Today

The West is the West, minus London. The East is the Midwest, minus Brantford and Brampton, plus St Catharines. Then it would only make sense to move St Marys to the East and save on travel for them and teams having to go there from the Windsor - Chatham area. If you move St. Marys to the East then ...

Thanks Port for opening up a topic about a colourful hockey player ... as in his style of playing off and on the ice. I usually had a smile on my face when I saw his antics.
My condolences to his family and all those who called him friend.

As has been said another time. the Legionnaires attendance number include season ticket holders as well as those who paid to get in or signed the book. Staff and volunteers are not included in the attendance numbers in Sarnia. Just wanted to clear things up in case there was some misunderstanding.

As goalies seemingly like to do, Hakr was out of his net to play the puck. To the surprise of many (including me), he...

Final Round in the West

I wonder how many here are as surprised as I am that the #3 and #4 seeded teams are playing for the Western crown? I find that I am, at least a little. Funny also that both games played tonight to clinch the series for the two teams had an identical score of 6-1. So who becomes the West Champ? and w...
